April showers are white

The early April snows have been gorgeous, with bright sunshine and blue skies following the snowfalls.
Here is what it looked like as I stepped into our second floor hallway one day last week. It is 6:30 am.
Looking out into the back yard from the main floor, the small hemlocks and taller balsam firs are drooped down with their fresh snow cover. It is 16 degrees outside.
I am headed down the street to the job, to see how the electricians are doing with all the finish trim and lighting.

At the left hand side of the staircase platform step, this lattice-design wall, with endpost, was built of cherry components. It is shown all clamped up, as I completed it yesterday.

I worked on the main level staircase trim yesterday. One piece at a time, this balustrade/handrail went together. The last pieces were the side trims on the rail, seen clamped up here.

I moved into the powder room to trim it out, just this afternoon. There is only room for one of us in there.
You can see the laser level set on its pole-jam rig. It gave me the level line around the room for setting the tile trim band and wainscot boards.

A peek up the staircase with the built-in bookshelves in view.
Red birch treads and sap maple risers will be one of the last things we do.

On the parlor side of the fireplace, Jack and I have finished most of the lower woodwork, and Scott is doing the marble facing and hearth.
Some of the woodwork is prefinished with a couple coats, some is bare. All will take on the same color and gloss when done. We don't want to bring back Eddie the Painter until we have quit making dust.
Jack quit early to XC ski today. He is working his way up to the oven lifting event. I would have gone to the mountain (weather was beautiful) but the gondola was closed due to high winds up top.

MBR bath vanities and center linen console, viewed from tub.
The blue tape seen on the meds cab door is the only way we can get the door open, until we install the knob.
Mirrors should all come next week!

Here is the corner where the tub will be installed. If it won't go in from inside, we'll take it through one of the windows.
The hardwood headband that trims out the ceiling surround of the shower cabinet was up before, but taken down so the glass work could go in. There are only two or three pieces of hardwood trim to go in this room, which had a lot for its size.

Partial kitchen view, island in foreground. The power cords are plugged into the recep that will power the 42-inch built-in GE Monogram refrigerator. The cooktop backspash stone will be installed next week.

It has been a long time since the last postings. Since then, the two of us, Jack and I, have been installing cabinets and trim, while subcontractors have been popping in to install their specialties.
Here is the fireplace, LR side, with the TV and stereo cabs installed, and the slate tile work in progress.

Short-handed, good day anyway
That finished, we started sheathing that plane of the roof. Carlo left, then we finished up the sheathing, did the soffit framing at the outer edge, cleaned up, and set up part of the scaffold run for the long stretch of subfascia from entry corner out to screened porch terrace corner.
Each roof plane requires its run of subfascia installed before it can be sheathed in OSB. There is a lot of roof on this house, and over 525 lineal feet of roof edge.
Tomorrow we hope to finish the lower roof sheathing, then get everything dried in, and move to the upper.
